More details are available on the new X-Press 20-kHz integrated ultrasonic welder introduced at NPE 2006 by Sonics & Materials Inc., Newtown, Conn. The unit features a press with a built-in microprocessor that eliminates the need for a separate power supply. The press features a single-piece, cast-aluminum base, heavy-duty steel column, and easy-access, front-panel pneumatic and microprocessor controls. It comes in 1200 watts (Model XP-1200) and 2200 watts (Model XP-2200) and offers digital welding control by time and/or constant energy.
