Speedier Machine For Industrial Containers—August 2007

A new continuous-extrusion blow molder for industrial containers is said to signifi cantly improve output. Model S900900 from Techne North America Inc., Aurora, Ont., makes 25L containers weighing 1200 g in 38 sec compared with 50 sec on standard machines, the company claims. The new press incorporates Techne's Veltech fast-cooling technology, which was launched at NPE 2006. Cooling time is reduced by increasing the fl ow and speed of water in the mold and changing the temperature and humidity of the blowing air. A special heat exchanger comes with the system. The single-sided machine has a 900-mm stroke and 900-mm clamp opening to accommodate containers up to 30L. A two-cavity model is also available.
