Ampacet claims that molding in the frosted look costs at least 90% less than spraying on the frost effect after molding. One of the fi rst commercial applications for 603121-PT and 603122-PT masterbatches is heavy-walled PET bottles in 3.3 to 8 oz from Impressions Packaging of Peachtree City, Ga.
Products' appearance can range from translucent to opaque. Intensity of the frosted effect depends on the letdown ratio, which is typically 1% to 5%.
