Medical molding, liquid silicone rubber (LSR) molding, micromolding (even of LSR), energy management, biopolymers, and sustainable, “green” molding—these and more topics of highest interest to injection molders today will be presented at the Molding 2012 International Conference and Exhibit in Miami, Fla., Jan. 22-25.

22-25. The program for this 22nd annual conference is developed by a  volunteer committee of molders and suppliers of equipment, tooling, materials, and software, based on their knowledge of the trends driving the industry. Attendees will learn about such leading-edge technologies as optical molding, all-plastic “hybrid” composites, in-mold welding, powder-metal and magnet molding, and online process optimization. Sponsored by Executive Conference Management, the conference also includes tabletop exhibits and two free educational workshops on Energy Optimization in Molding and on Expert Scientific Molding. In addition to the 27 conference papers, keynote addresses will be delivered by Michael McGee, director of technology for Nypro, Inc., and by plastics economist Bill Wood (“Can We Compete?”).
