bins and other large storage vessels using the new Resin Level Display (RLD) system from Conair. The RLD can be mounted anywhere in the plant to provide immediate, centralized information on material levels in any connected container. The system uses proven, high-quality, high-reliability Allen Bradley components. The Micrologix 1500 programmable logic controller (PLC) connects to up to 40 input sensors to provide: low-material-level indication in up to 40 vessels; low-and high-level indication in up to 20 vessels; or low-, medium- and high-level indication in up to 12 silos or surge bins. Depending on application requirements, the system can deliver visual and audible alarms once or at intervals to signal material-level problems. An intuitive Allen Bradley Micro 300 user interface provides a visual display of current material levels in all monitored containers. Graphic indicators for up to 8 vessels are displayed at any given moment and operators simply page through groups of 8 to find the status of any silo or bin. Options include an Ethernet communications package and/or analog inputs for continuous (ultrasonic or “yo-yo”) silo monitoring. Several password-protected security levels are provided.
