WEB EXCLUSIVE: Octal Petrochemicals of Oman (U.S. office in Dallas) has started full production at its new PET plant, the second phase of a capacity expansion targeted specifically targeted for North and South American markets. It brings Octal’s total capacity for PET bottle resin to 1.84 billion lb/yr.
Commenting on the expansion, director of marketing Vivek Harkauli says, “Octal is building its brand on a true global scale. Our aim is to move into market leadership positions with multinational giants such as Coca-Cola, Nestle, Colgate, and P&G. We have established a strong and stable base from which to drive targeted expansion into markets such as North and South America.”
Since its founding in 2006, Octal has emerged as a global supplier of performance PET resin and its proprietary DPET sheet, the first and only PET sheet produced directly from the reactor with no intermediate pelletizing stage.
