Q: What is the maximum head pressure that an extruder should run?
Global film-packaging supplier

A: It’s totally dependent on the viscosity of the resin. Higher viscosity resins will operate at higher head pressures. The optimum head pressure is between 2500 and 3500 psi. Anything higher will affect the output and melt temperature. A melt pump should be part of the system.
