This year, you may need to make better use of your time at NPE than ever before. Your company may be sending fewer people than in previous years to the giant show in Chicago in June, and you may be able to get away from your plant for a shorter time than in the past. With an estimated 2000 exhibitors and 1000 papers at seven co-located conferences, you will need to make the most of your visit.

Plastics Technology aims to make your time at NPE 2009 as productive as possible by providing you with editorial information and special planning tools to guide you to the exhibits and conference sessions you don’t want to miss. And even if you won’t be in Chicago on June 22-26, we’ll help make sure you don’t miss the new technologies you’ll need to stay competitive.

• MyShow Planner: This exclusive, interactive Web application, full of high-tech graphics, lets you search by topic, exhibitor, or show hall to plan your steps. Click on the MyShow Planner link on our home page at www.ptonline.com. Use this free utility to create, save, and print your own maps of the places you want to be, and make a calendar of appointments and planned visits. You can also look up and schedule the sessions you want to catch of the SPE ANTEC (a record 1000 papers) and the conferences of Moldmaking Expo and Time Compression Expo, sponsored by our sister publications. Their focused mini-shows are in the West Hall.

• NPE Insider Blog: Next month, we’re launching our show blog to alert you to exhibits or events that our editors find particularly intriguing or exciting. We’ll update the blog daily during the show. You’ll see it on computer screens at our booth, and in the NPE Zone on our website (see below). We want you processors to participate in the blog, too: Before the show, visit the NPE Zone on our website and click the link to the blog page to ask our editors and show exhibitors about where to find particular products and technologies you are looking for. At the show, stop by our booth (South 50048) to post brief comments on the most interesting things you have seen or to ask where to find what you’re still looking for. Get a free T-shirt and sign up for our e-newsletters while you’re at it. Contribute to the blog before the show and get a free show pass, while supplies last.

• PLASPEC Global: Get a free demo of our new online Materials DataCenter and sign up for a free Basic subscription or a Complete subscription at the special show discount rate.

• NPE Zone: Starting this month, there’s a special page on our website of NPE product news gathered by our editors. The NPE Zone will add new articles each month, even after the show.
