Nissei ASB Company introduced the world's first all electric single stage injection stretch blow molsing machine during NPE 2006, held in Chicago, the ASB-15N/10E. The machine first made it debut during Chinaplas2006, which was held in Shanghai, China. The ASB-15/10E has been developed from an existing high performance model from the best selling ASB Series of machines. The all electric machine includes many upgrades and enhancements including approximately 60% reduced electrical (power) consumption, 90% water consumption reduction (due to the elimination of water which would be required to cool a hydraulic circuit), clean molding, low noise operation, stable molding temperature, stable shot-to-shot molding, and improved injection velocity control. Existing customers can benefit from the improvements offered by the all electric models without worry; by using adapter parts, the all electric models are backwards compatible with molds previously sold for hydraulically driven ASB Series machines. The ASB-15N/10E is highly suitable for small-lot production of average sized containers, but is also capable of mass production of small containers. This machine is ideal for the product that is difficult to mold, products with high value, or products that require a clean production environment such as medical, chemical, cosmetic containers, etc. During NPE 06, Nissei ASB exhibited a prototype versin of the ASB-15N/10E, molding mascara containers. The molding cycle for this 10 cavity mold was 9 seconds, producing an output of 4,000 bph.
