This June, SkillsUSA will hold its 49th annual National Leadership and Skills Conference in Kansas City—which is a showcase career and technical education students. There are a number of seminars and training sessions and more than 5,000 people—including students, teachers and business partners—are expected to participate in the week-long event. On Thursday, students can compete hands-on in 98 different trade, technical and leadership fields. Students work against the clock—and each other—to prove their expertise in occupations like CAD and precision machining, among others.
SkillsUSA is a non-profit organization which partners students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. Sounds like a great road trip for a worthy cause!
