Machine tool maker Emag says the advantage of a two-spindle inverted vertical turning center is the way it cuts down on “nebenzeit,” or non-productive time. As this video of the company’s VL 2 P demonstrates, one spindle can pick up a part while the other is engaged in machining. As a result, load/unload time is effectively zero.
