Plastics Technology is presenting its third technical program in a successful series of conferences on innovations in injection molding from Wednesday, September 19th through Thursday, September 20th at the Wyndham in Downtown Cleveland.

The program this year will feature four half-day sessions on these following topics:

Session 1: In-Mold Assembly
Snap-fits, heat welding, and special overmolding technologies are being used to produce complete assemblies in the mold.

Session 2: In-Line Compounding & Molding of Long-Fiber Thermoplastics
Molders of automotive parts, pallets, and other structural applications are saving money by compounding their own long-glass materials right on the press.

Session 3: Molding Biopolymers and Wood-Plastic Compounds
A new range of materials partly or wholly derived from renewable resources are moving from extruded to injection molded applications.

Session 4: More Emerging Technologies for Injection Molding
Topics include in-mold painting, automotive glazing, micro-molding,and co-molding rubbers and plastics.

Lunch Session 1: RFID Tags in the Mold
The next steps for this fast-growing technology are RFID in-mold labeling and insert-molding.

Lunch Session 2: Machine Safety Code Compliance

Machine safety codes are being updated, and molders need to know how to bring older equipment into compliance and what to think about when buying used equipment or low-priced machines from overseas.
