October 23 - 24, 2013
This course is designed for those who either perform or utilize plastic flow simulation. The goal of this course is to teach students about the uses and limitations of plastic flow simulation. The course begins with an understanding of plastics and plastic flow as related to the injection molding process. The course then discusses the capabilities and limitations of the technology independent of the software package being utilized. Students will learn what to specify to and request from an analyst to ensure the project goals are met. In addition, students will go through an example project beginning with gate location selection up through warp analysis, and how to interpret the simulation results at each step of the process.
