Powder & Dusty Regrind Receivers

Powder receivers operate on the same principle as standard receivers but provide vacuum transfer of powders and dusty regrind with the help of centralized vacuum pumps and controls. They are designed specifically for conveying dusty regrind and powders like PVC that include blended amounts of titanium dioxide, calcium carbonate, etc. (They are not approved for conveying these additives alone. Specially designed filters (one to three each) and powerful blowback are required to keep filters from clogging. The receivers are mounted on top of existing bins or hoppers. The conventional dump throat is typical.

Capacities typically range from 1/3 through 2 cu. ft.

Some features to look for include:

  • Stainless steel body – wears longer
  • Modular design – for easy access and cleanout
  • Tangential Material Inlet Deflector/Flapper

Provides cyclonic air/material separation which minimizes material degradation

  • Check valve w/ gasket – provides positive seal so receiver can be used in common line systems
  • Spun bond polyester filter elements – load powders down to 1 micron and are washable

Typical accessories include:

  • Pulsed blowback control– keeps pellet screen & filter clear when central control is not programmed for blowback
  • Station sequencing valve– to open and close vacuum flow (1 required for each receiver)
