Receivers for Pellets and Regrind
Vacuum receivers provide vacuum transfer of plastic pellets and regrinds with the help of centralized vacuum pumps and controls. They are mounted on top of existing bins or hoppers. Hopper mount models typically have capacities that range from 1/8 through 3 cu. ft. Machine mount models typically range from 1/8 through ½ cu. ft.
There are receivers for:
- Pellets and Regrind
- Machine Mount JIT Models
Options for abrasive or hot materials ( over 250° F.) are available.
There are several variations on receiver design:
- Conventional dump throat
- Flat bottom with internal dump throat
- Internal filter screen to collect dust & fines
- Filter-less design
- Separate or built-in vacuum sequencing valve
- Receivers may be stainless steel, carbon steel or aluminum
- Exterior surface may be painted or brushed – even electro-polished
Some features to look for include:
- Stainless steel body – wears longer
- Modular design – for easy access and cleanout
- Tangential Material Inlet Deflector/Flapper
Provides cyclonic air/material separation which minimizes material degradation
- Check valve w/ gasket – provides positive seal so receiver can be used in common line systems
- Gasket on dump throat - maintains seal for high vacuum level
- Machine mount models should have level sensor – to avoid over loading
Typical accessories include:
- External proportioning valve & control– for layering virgin/regrind materials
- Pulsed blowback control – keeps pellet screen & filter clear when central control
is not programmed for blowback
- Station sequencing valve – to open and close vacuum flow (1 required for each receiver)
