New tiger free-stripe Daplen PP and TPO grades from Austria’s Borealis Group (U.S. office in Port Murray, N.J.) are featured in more than 33 different applications in the new-generation model of the PSA Group’s Citroen C4 Cactus.

Borealis worked closely with the PSA Group and its major Tier One suppliers and identified the Daplen grades ideally suited for the aesthetic and performance-related challenges posed by the new model.  A central concern regarding surface aesthetics was the elimination of flow marks—also known as tiger stripes. The new tiger stripe-free grades reportedly offer more design freedom and better quality vs. previous and competitive materials for use in several applications. For example, Daplen EH227AE TPO compound is being used in exterior applications such as the rocker panels, while additional PP and TPO grades are used in interior trims, central console and dashboard.
