The renowned Italian modern furniture company Kartell (U.S. flagship store in Los Angeles), has just released the film “15 Years of Transparency” on YouTube, celebrating 15 years of transparent design with help from SABIC Innovative Plastics (U.S. office in Pittsfield, Mass.)

The film features some of the most iconic pieces of furniture in the design industry made with SABIC’s Lexan PC resin, ranging from La Marie, the world’s first PC chair produced in a single mold, to Kartell’s new launch, the Uncle Jack sofa—the brainchild of acclaimed French designer Philippe Starck.  Weighing 66 lbs, the 6-foot long sofa is the largest piece of furniture ever made using injection molding, also in a single mold. Also featured is what is said to be the world’s best-selling design chair, Louis Ghost, with over 1.5 million units sold, and Mr. Impossible, a product that was once thought impossible to make because two separate components had to come together in a seamless way, Also made with Lexan, this chair is the first model in which both seating and leg structures are integrated through a laser-welding process.
