Oerlikon Balzers, manufacturer of hard material coatings, has opened its 14th center in the U.S., in Oklahoma City, Ok.
“We see further signs of growing demand in the U.S., and this 14th center will position us to take advantage of growth in this, our second largest market," says Hans Brändle, CEO of Oerlikon Balzers.
The United States, the world’s number one economy, has been steadily recovering, and demand for new technologies in the aerospace, automotive and off-road industries is growing. “For many industries, the U.S. is still the most important driver of innovation and next generation products will require new coating concepts based on PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition),” Dr. Brändle says .
Dr. Roland Herb, head of tools at Oerlikon Balzers, explains, “Oklahoma City was selected as the site for our new center because several key industries are located in the region. In addition, the Oklahoma City location will allow us to serve customers throughout Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri and north Texas.”
Dr. Brändle says, “With the opening of our new Oklahoma City facility, we will target the aerospace and oil and gas industries using our latest PVD coating technologies. Our customers will benefit from high performance coating options for landing gear, seat tracks and engine components, just to name a few.”
The Oklahoma City location is the 92nd Oerlikon Balzers Coating Centre worldwide.
