Sapa Extrusions North America recently celebrated the 50-year anniversary of long-time employee and Regional Sales Manager Harvey Mize. To mark the occasion, the company has named October 11 “Harvey Mize Day” at Sapa.
Mr. Mize began his career with Sapa in 1963 on October 11, serving as a press utility manager in Rockwall, Texas, at a plant formerly called Texas Aluminum. Throughout the years, he has held various positions with Sapa in such areas as production scheduling and customer service. Mr. Mize moved to outside sales in 1978, securing a role as regional sales manager. Mr. Mize currently works closely with all of Sapa’s Southeast Region plants (including Belton, S.C., Delhi, La., Gainesville, Ga., and Miami and St Augustine, Fla.) among other plants throughout Sapa’s 23 locations in North and South America. Collectively, Mr. Mize is responsible for the commercial sale of more than 10 million pounds of aluminum profiles annually.
Throughout his career, Mr. Mize has been recognized on numerous occasions for exceptional work and service.
“In this day and age, it is rare to come across such a loyal and dedicated employee,” says Doug Carlson, sales director of the Sapa Southeast Region. “Harvey has proven himself to be an integral part of the Sapa team and the company would not be where it is today without his vision and drive. Harvey is the ultimate mentor to the Southeast Sales Team. The formula for his tremendous success and career lies in an outstanding work ethic, as well as his knowledge of the customer, market and the production capabilities in our network of facilities. We call him the ‘Texas Tornado’ as an internal title of respect.”
Mr. Mize lives in Caddo Mills, Texas, with his wife Jeanie of 48 years.
