Two major suppliers of heavy-gauge sheet have united as one entity. Kydex LLC and Allen Extruders announced recently that they have come together as Sekisui SPI. The creation of this new global business is part of Sekisui Chemical’s long-term strategy to strengthen their current investment in the plastics sheet and thermoforming industry. Sekisui SPI is headquartered in Bloomsburg, Pa. (the former Kydex plant), with a second location in Holland, Mich. (the former Allen facility).
“By bringing Kydex and Allen together we are setting a new standard of excellence for the plastics industry to think, design, and create,” said Ronn Cort, Sekisui SPI COO and president (photo). “The combined research and development capabilities and products of the many Sekisui companies will continue to result in better solutions for our customers.”
Sekisui purchased the Kydex in 1987, when the former was known as Kleerdex. Sekisui purchased Allen in 2007
