There’s No Business Like Show Business

This year, you may need to make better use of your time at NPE than ever before. Your company may be sending fewer people than in previous years to the giant show in Chicago in June, and you may be able to get away from your plant for a shorter time than in the past. With an estimated 2000 exhibitors and 1000 papers at seven co-located conferences, you will need to make the most of your visit.

Plastics Technology aims to make your time at NPE 2009 as productive as possible by providing you with editorial information and special planning tools to guide you to the exhibits and conference sessions you don’t want to miss. And even if you won’t be in Chicago on June 22-26, we’ll help make sure you don’t miss the new technologies you’ll need to stay competitive. Learn More

Buying Resin
Given the level of uncertainty in the global economy, longer term forecasting is more volatile than ever.  The focus in resin procurement should be based on a much shorter horizon, 2-3 months as raw material prices are on a fairly flat to declining trajectory. Learn More

U.S. injection molders are still pretty green when it comes to processing the new crop of renewably sourced biopolymers. These resins require some care in molding so as not to exceed their heat, shear, and hydrolytic stability. Materials suppliers have been developing new and enhanced grades with improved processability and end-use properties, which could help the material to advance into a wider range of applications. Additive suppliers have also come out with products to overcome processing and performance limitations. Learn More
