New CBW and CGW Series granulators from Conair, Pittsburgh, have interchangeable back plates that modify the cutting chamber from a "super-tangential" to a "restricted tangential" confi guration. This lets the same granulator handle bulky thin-walled parts, bottles, sheet, and fi lm- which normally require tangential feeding-as well as heavy-wall parts, profi les, and sprues/runners that are more suited to straight-drop feeding. The new granulators have a large swingaway door on the front that has the screen cradle and catch bin mounted on it. Thus, the cradle and bin swing away from the rotor when the door is opened, greatly reducing time needed for cleanout and material changeover, and providing easier access to the blades for maintenance. CBW granulators process up to 500 lb/hr with a 10in.-diam. rotor that is 12, 18, or 24 in. long. CGW units go up to 1000 lb/hr with a 14-in. cutting circle and widths of 18, 24, or 36 in. Also, the CGW is available with an optional fi ve-bladed rotor instead of the standard three blades. Tel: (412) 312-6000 . www.conairnet.com
