From: Plastics Technology
Issue: July 2009
A new “color-leveling” additive allows injection molders to run all colors in polypropylene at the same cycle-speed settings without adverse effects on shrinkage or warpage. Because of the way some organic pigments interact with crystalline polyolefins, molders sometimes have run certain colors on longer cycles to prevent dimensional quality issues. ProBlend additive from Ampacet Corp., Tarrytown, NY, is said to eliminate such loss of productivity and works especially well in PP closures, tubs, and containers. (914) 631-6600 • www.ampacet.com
