A new line of color concentrates now offered by custom compounder Foster Corp., Putnam, Conn., is aimed at supporting manufacturers of medical devices in the early stages of product development. Foster’s MediBatch are being made available in quantities as low as a single pound.

Formulated with FDA 21CFR 73 subpart D pigments for medical device applications and a polymer carrier that is compatible with a wide range of base resins, including nylons and polyurethanes, the MediBatch color concentrates can help reduce the FDA review time for a new device and expedite the approval process. There are 12 standard colorants, including green, red, yellow, blue, violet, black and white available from stock in 1 lb, 5lb, and 10 lb quantities. Custom colorants are also available on a made-to-order basis.
