Processors can now establish their own in-house liquid-coloring program with new offering from Riverdale Color, Perth Amboy, N.J. Riverdale would supply so-called “primary” colors—or single-pigment dispersions (SPDs), with which processors would do their own blending and color matching, resulting in lower overall coloring costs as well as lower shipping and inventory expenses. It could also reduce color development time by eliminating the delay of third-party color matching and colorant production. Riverdale’s SPD technology had been used exclusively in its own custom-color operations.
