The newest addition to the VersaMax portfolio of non-phthalate plasticizers for flexible PVC and plastisols from Eastman Chemical, Kingsport, Tenn., is said to provide better efficiency, improved dry time, lower and stable plastisol viscosity, and faster fusion when compared to both traditional ortho-phthalate and other non-phthalate plasticizers.

A proprietaty terephthalic ester, VersaMax Plus plasticizer boasts enhanced compatibility in PVC formulations and demonstrates performance consistent to DEHP (di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate) across a variety of Shore A hardness levels while outperforming DINP (diisononyl phthalate). Reportedly, it is similarly advantaged against other non-phthalate options including workhorse Hexamoll DINCH (di-isonony-cyclohexane dicarboxylate) from BASF.
