Spanish blow molding machine manufacturer Side S.A. (represented here by Regency Sales, Upland, Calif.) has introduced its first all-electric reheat stretch-blow molding machines for PET bottles. All primary machine elements like clamp, stretch rods, and transfer of preforms are activated by a servomotor which boosts flexibility, improves efficiency, and saves energy, the firm claims. New model TMS 2002e-g has two cavities and produces bottles up to 8 liters at 2600/hr. The TMS 2004e runs four cavities for bottles up to 2L at 5400/hr. Other models include the TMS 1002e and TMS 2006e, which produce containers up to 2L with two and six cavities, respectively. Side also launched an electric hybrid unit for large one-way PET containers. The TMS 5001e-g runs one cavity for up to 30L containers for water and beer. The machine has a hydraulic clamp and an electric servomotor for the stretch rod and preform transfer.
