Films based on KetaSpire PEEK and AvaSpire modified PEEK from Solvay Advanced Polymers, Alpharetta, Ga., are now offered by Ajedium Film Group LLC, Newark, Del. This is the second such entry this year. In May, Victrex USA Inc., West Conshohocken, Pa., launched Aptiv PEEK films, which are made at a new dedicated production line in the U.K. Initial offerings from Ajedium will come in 2- to 20-mil thicknesses and roll widths up to 48 in. Additional products in thicknesses down to 5 microns are slated for later this year. Key applications include aircraft insulation, submersible pump insulation, slot liners for oil and gas production, and seals, gaskets, flanges and insulated tapes for automotive, consumer electronics, and food and beverage processing.
