New M7.3 central material-handling system control from Wittmann Battenfeld, Torrington, Conn., is available with four new options that greatly enhance management and traceability of materials usage: RFID user management, lot management, WiMaTrace lot traceability, and OPC connectivity. All of these features are available through a license from Wittmann Battenfeld.
•RFID user management is personalized for each machine user. Rather than having to log in with a user name and password, the user simply swipes a tag. This allows for faster login times and greater traceability of operator activity.
•Lot management interfaces automatically with the system barcode scanner. Using this interface, the program will verify all scanned material changes, identify the affected equipment, and alert the user if a wrong material is scanned.
•Both the WiMaTrace and OPC options are designed to allow the M7.3 controller to interface with a PC to store data and generate reports. WiMaTrace interfaces directly with lot management to store the essential information it gathers from the barcode scanner in a database providing traceability of the “what” and the “where” of material usage. Custom reports can be created from this database
