The Duo conveyor unit is able to deliver material to two plastics processing stations or granulate dryers.
The Duo conveyor can deliver material to two plastic processing stations or granulate dryers with throughputs ranging from 120 to 340 kg/hr (265 to 750 lb/hr). The system consists of vacuum generator, control, two hopper loaders, two suction lances, an antistatic PVC hose with a Y-branch, and a single three-phase vacuum generator. Koch-Technik, Ispringen, Germany (represented in the U.S. by Yellowbox Technologies LLC, Union, Ky.), which will introduce the product at K 2016 (Hall 10, Stand A21) says the vacuum generator’s output is distributed to the two material conveyors on an alternating basis. The system is intended for processors who want to supply two demand points close to each other with medium-to-large material throughputs.
A touch panel control, with 16 languages, is used for menu navigation. At purchase, parameters such as cleaning and inspection intervals are configured for both material conveyors, and the unit is then password protected via a hierarchical operator level. For conveying operation, processors need only to activate the device and make any adjustments to the conveying time.
The two intermediate hoppers and material hopper loaders can be customized. The A series material conveyors are equipped with rotary blade cleaning, where the conveying air is cleaned through a filter in the hopper loader. A polyester fleece filter captures dust and foreign particles of up to 2µ in size. A rotary blade within the filter cartridge rotates quickly prior to each conveying operation, generating compressed air to clean the filter from the inside out in less than 0.4 second. This cleaning operation reportedly ensures dust-free material transportation, helping protect the vacuum generator.
Three models are equipped with a 1.5-kW vacuum generator for an output of between 120 to 230 kg/hr (265 to more than 500 lb/hr). A more powerful unit with a 2.5-kW vacuum generator ranges up to 340 kg/hr (750 lb/hr).
