Powder Solutions, Inc., Chanhassen, Minn., is offering a redesigned version of the BFM fitting that features a tapered end that functions as a small hopper.
The fitting hopper was developed in response to customer demand for BFM fitting that allows for increased visibility of the powder product and ease of cleaning. The product is designed for use in surge bins when visual indication of flow and volume are critical to operations.
Said to be ideal as an interface between production and packaging, or between wet and dry processes, the BFM fitting hopper can be cleaned in place or removed for cleaning.
The BFM fitting replaces old-school flexible sleeves held with hose clamps, reportedly guaranteeing a leak-proof operation
