Three new bits for composite milling and routing have been introduced by Onsrud Cutter, LP, Libertyville, Ill. The UnRuffer (left in photo) is a solid-carbide burr tool said to give a much improved edge finish. Two other new tools reportedly improve machining of graphite (center) and aramid-fiber (right) materials. They are designed with a larger number of effective cutting flutes, giving better performance than a standard burr. Special clean-out flutes aid in chip removal and a chisel-type cutting edge extends tool life and boosts productivity, the company says.
