Bigger Multi-Axial Centrifugal Mixer

Thirteen liters may not sound large, but it’s the biggest batch model so far of a bladeless mixer from Thinky Corp. of Japan (U.S. office in Kennesaw, Ga.). A model this size was built last summer to produce a compound for molding eyeglass lenses.

Thirteen liters may not sound large, but it’s the biggest batch model so far of a bladeless mixer from Thinky Corp. of Japan (U.S. office in Kennesaw, Ga.). A model this size was built last summer to produce a compound for molding eyeglass lenses. Previously, the largest Thinky mixer was for 10-liter batches of silicones, urethanes, and adhesives. The new model ARV-10000 is a vacuum-equipped version of the AR mixer, which simultaneously rotates and revolves a batch container in two planes. The double spin mixes material and de-aerates it down to sub-micron bubbles, which is important in lens production.
