A new line of feed screws is said to provide higher throughputs, lower melt temperatures, and improved mixing on reciprocating-screw extrusion blow molders. The Max-Recip Impact Screw from R&B Plastics Machinery, Saline, Mich., was designed by Tim Womer, R&B’s chief process consultant. The screw was developed in response to requests from dairy and juice bottle molders. It has bimetallic flight hard-facing and chrome plating for long life.
