Arkema Inc., Technical Polymers, Philadelphia, has introduced Rilsan Clear G830, said to be the first transparent, bio-based nylon. It is made with 54% renewable raw materials and is said to offer the same benefits of comfort and durability as standard Rilsan Clear G350, aimed at injection molded eyewear frames. The latter product boasts lightness, high flexibility and elasticity, toughness, chemical resistance, and easy processing.
