A standardized cold-runner system designed for use in molding liquid silicone or other thermoset rubbers is new from D-M-E Co., Madison Heights, Mich. The KKS system features pneumatic needle shutoff nozzles and restrictors that minimize leftover sprue volume and reduce cycle time. A standard KKS system ranges in size from 156 x 156 mm to 596 x 596 mm with two to 16 drops. Up to seven different nozzle styles are offered. Custom systems, including ones for multi-component molding, also can be supplied.
