An expanded family of color masterbatches for medical devices or pharmaceutical and medical packaging uses pigments and resins that have been tested and certified compliant with USP Class VI standards. Available from Clariant Masterbatches, Holden, Mass., the newest Renol MD concentrates are designed for use in PEBAtype TPEs and nylon 12. Standard and custom colors are available in solid, opaque colors, as well as translucent and transparent tints. They are produced in Lewiston, Me., on an extrusion line dedicated to medical masterbatches. Other Renol MD grades are for use in PVC, styrenics, PEEK, and other engineering resins.
