Coperion Werner & Pfleiderer, Ramsey, N.J., has upgraded its high-torque, corotating twin-screw ZSK MEGAcompounder line with “Plus” versions that have 20% more torque than before. These machines can run at 20% higher fill levels or process the same throughput at lower speeds of 100 to 200 rpm—vs. 300 to 400 for the earlier MEGAcompounder—and at correspondingly lower temperatures. MEGAcompounder Plus models have stronger bearings in the gearbox and bigger motors.
