The Bullet Series strand pelletizer from Reduction Scheer Engineering, Kent, Ohio, is said to deliver easy cleanout, quick turnaround, and easy operation. Designed to run 24/7, this pelletizer combines two technologies to maximize efficiency and throughput for laboratory and small-volume production.
The unit has innovative features from the E-Series pelletizer that Reduction Engineering acquired through its purchase of Scheer Pelletizing Machinery in Germany. The Bullet Series is reportedly easier and faster to clean and service yet still maintains the cutting performance and quality of Reduction Engineering’s Model 304 pelletizer. It boasts toolless removal of infeed and discharge chutes, which facilitate material changeovers. This is particularly important for compounders who may have multiple changeovers during a shift. The pelletizer also has a small footprint and minimized pellet hold-up points.
Another key feature is a single large pneumatic cylinder with an upper feed roll that remains parallel with the bottom roll. It produces a greater uniform pulling force with strands of varying diameter, resulting in less waste. The pelletizer has a 6-in. cutting diameter and comes in three models with 2-, 4-, and 6-in. cutting widths.
