The new cart-mounted Prep-Mill from C.W. Brabender Instruments Inc., S. Hackensack, N.J., is an electrically heated, heavy-duty machine designed for small-scale milling of thermoplastics and elastomers. This mobile, compact milling station is designed to operate at up to 260 C, with an accuracy of ±1°C.

The heavy-duty, high-torque, 2.5-hp, sensorless, vector drive system comes with built-in torque-overload protection, digital ammeter, and digital rpm indicator. Roll speed can be varied up to 30 rpm. Dial gauges over the rolls help accurately determine the roll gap setting. Safety provisions include an emergency stop and operator trip bar on top of the unit, a safety guard over the rolls, and two  operator kick plates.
