Compressed-Air Knife Runs Quieter

A compressed-air knife for blowing dust off film in bag making and other converting processes is said to be the quietest on the market because of streamlined inner air flow.

A compressed-air knife for blowing dust off film in bag making and other converting processes is said to be the quietest on the market because of streamlined inner air flow. The X-Stream Air Blade, introduced by Nex-Flow Technologies, Kitchener, Ont., emits sound levels of 62 dbA at the low range of air pressure (20 psi) and up to 78 dbA at the high end (90 psi). Nex-Flow says the closest competitor tested at 68 to more than 82 dbA over that range. With the addition of a static bar, the X-Stream can provide more thorough cleaning.
