Sacmi of Italy (U.S. office in Des Moines, Iowa) will be operating its recently optimized continuous compression molding (CCM) system for bottle caps. It boasts even lower energy consumption and new Cool+ molds with double the cooling circuits of previous versions. The 48-cavity CCM now puts out up to 2000 mineral-water caps/min and will be demonstrated running 1881 carbonated soft-drink caps (HDPE) in a cycle time of less than 2.15 sec for output of 1350 caps/min.
