A new line of acetal copolymers with electrically conductive and static-dissipative performance include brightly colorable grades.

A new line of acetal copolymers with electrically conductive and static-dissipative performance include brightly colorable grades. These compounds come from Premix Thermoplastics Inc., Milton, Wis. Pre-Elec 12-000 conductive compounds (<105 ohm/sq surface resistivity) are based on carbon black or carbon fiber. They are aimed at automotive fuel systems, gears, and other applications that require toughness and wear and chemical resistance. A colorable grade, Pre-Elec 12-031, is based on carbon fiber. Pre-Elec ESD 12-000 static-dissipative compounds are colorable alloys of acetal and inherently dissipative polymers. They have surface resistivity from 109 to 1011 ohm/sq.
