A new injection machine control and monitoring system that allows molders to attain similar production rate and part quality from a mold as it moves from machine to machine was introduced at the K Show in Germany last month by Priamus System Technologies LLC., Brunswick, Ohio. Its Pass Controller records process settings between set limits when the machine is operating with a mold at a desired cycle. These settings include maximum cavity pressure or temperature, or the viscosity of the melt-a new capability that is determined cycle by cycle. The data is captured by a small portable unit that can follow the mold from press to press. The controller interfaces with the press to display current operating parameters. Molders then adjust their process until they reach the process conditions stored in the unit. A green LED light indicates a match between saved and actual settings. An option provides automatic switchover when the settings are matched. The system can display production efficiency, downtime, and good/bad part statistics. The controller uses a standard memory card for storage and has a cycle counter for monitoring mold-service intervals. Tel: (877) 774-2687 . www.priamus.com
