A patented ink reservoir system for pad printers uses an aluminum frame to hold inexpensive, disposable PP ink-cup liners. Newly available from ITW Trans Tech, Carol Stream, Ill., the SpaceFrame reservoir is designed for the company's economical ExpressLiner ink cup (launched in 2006), virtually eliminating expensive conventional ink cups. The molded ExpressLiner design is said to allow use of removable carbide or ceramic doctor rings with performance equal to previous systems. The new reservoir device is said to signifi cantly reduce the cost of using the company's RedStar MultiCup-system pad printers. It is also said to work with pad printers that use either mechanical or magnetic ink-cup hold-down. Operators now can choose to use the disposable liner inside a conventional RedStar MultiCup or in a SpaceFrame unit. Tel: (630) 752-4000 . www.itwtranstech.com
