MPS of The Netherlands (U.S. office in Brookfield, Wisc.) has just launched its flagship, high-quality production EF flexographic press to the both the North and Latin American markets. The EF press features both UV and hot-air drying technology, allowing users to print diverse substrates including plastic film, shrink sleeves, flexible packaging and paper. Says president of MPS America Denny McGee, “Our goal is to help printers excel. We listen closely to their needs and challenges and develop solutions to meet them. That is, for example, why we are making the EF available for both plate rolls or print sleeves at moment of order.”
Three automation features of the EF are said to maximize the performance of the operator: job memory, AutoTeach technology, and iStop technology. With the use of the servo-drives, all press setting are automated, which reduces set-up waste and offers simpler machine operation. The AutoTeach enables operators to determine the desired web path and the machine teaches itself automatically the web path being used. The iStop optimizes stops and starts during printing, allowing the operator to stop the machine at any point during the production run with no additional waste occurring when the press is restarted. The machine also features the patented Crisp.Dot printing technology which features a unique free-running rubberized impression roller and temperature control system so that ink dots don’t stretch or streak.
