A new drying hopper bank from Dri-Air Industries, Inc., East Windsor, Conn., has an integrated central conveyance system that can supply multiple resins to multiple machines. Quick-change manifolds let users switch from one hopper to another or connect multiple machines to a single drying hopper. Closed-loop conveyance and line purge keeps material lines clear and resin dry at the throat, where a compact JIT receiver is the only press-mounted component. Systems are available for up to 10 machines. Easy-to-use rotary selector switches or color touchscreens provide fast and easy setups. Just connect the hose, turn the selector switch, and it’s ready to run.

Hopper banks include separate temperature controllers for each hopper so you can dry different materials at different temperatures. A central dryer provides dry air to the hopper bank. Shutoff valves can isolate hoppers not in use.

According to Dri-Air, processors making one or two materials changes daily can justify the cost of a hopper bank in months. See it at NPE2015 in March in Orlando, Fla.
