The upgraded FG710S Infrared Film Thickness Gauge from NDC Infrared Engineering, Irwindale, Calif., is designed for high-precision measurement of basis weight or thickness of single- or multi-layer films with capabilities the supplier says were previously unavailable in any on-line sensor. These enhancements result from its full-spectrum optics capability that covers the near-infrared and a significant portion of the mid-infrared spectrum, a range NDC maintains competing “full spectrum” gauges cannot match. This feature permits many measurements to be made that were previously not possible while also improving precision in standard measurements. The FG710S can make up to six measurements simultaneously.
