At this month’s K 2013 Show in Düsseldorf, Parkinson Technologies, Woonsocket, R.I., will debut an enhanced version of the KCH Continuous Hybrid Screen Changer that was unveiled at last year’s NPE show in Orlando, Fla. This latest iteration offers more capability and a new safety feature of an automatic screen shear system.
By modifying the shape of the flow passage, Parkinson was able to double the filtration area, which provides more uniform distribution of polymer flow and promotes more efficient use of the filter media.
Parkinson also added an automatic screen shear system to offer processors an increased level of automation and safety. Once operators program the desired cut-off length, which can be as short as 2.5 in. (63.5mm), they can simply allow the machine to handle cutting off the filter waste. This eliminates manually cutting the screen with a saw while the machine is running.
