High-speed injection has come to vertical all-electric presses from JSW in Japan (U.S. office in Corona, Calif.) Its JT40EL-III press (40 metric tons) was introduced at the recent IPF show in Japan. It has a larger AC servomotor to reach injection speed of 300 mm/sec in 21 millisec and its top speed of 500 mm/sec in 35 ms. Previously, 160 mm/sec was the top speed. At present this is the only vertical model with the higher injection-speed capability. The high-speed option for JSW’s J-AD small and medium-size electric machines now boosts injection to 800 mm/sec, up from the previous 400 to 500 mm/sec. Standard injection speed for the line is 350 mm/sec. The high-speed option requires larger motors and is offered on 60- to 155-ton models.
